Two-year-old children need structure, firm boundaries, a daily routine, and lots of patience and love. This gives the children a sense of security and helps build a positive relationship between the teacher and child. Two-year-olds need lots of activities to safely explore and learn about the world around them. Lesson plans center around a weekly theme and work on the areas of: large and small motor development, sensory experiences, language development, and social/emotional skills.
Discipline – We talk simply to the children about making “good choices”, and praising the children by using positive words. For example; “I like the way Sara is using nice hands with her book” or “Thank you for using walking feet inside”. Redirection and distraction are used to calm a child when needed.
Daily Notes and Weekly Letters – These keep you informed about the details of your child’s day, so you know exactly what he/she has eaten, how long he/she slept, when diapers were changed and what activities he/she participated in.
Additional Classes Offered – You child can participate in gymnastics once a week, which is offered by Gym-Zzouri Gymnastics.
